Pacific Islander Student Alliance

On the Agenda

Cultural Heritage and Promotion:

The Pacific Islander Student Alliance organizes various cultural activities and celebrations such as traditional dance performances, music events, art exhibitions, and cultural festivals. These events allow members and the broader campus community to better understand and experience the rich culture of the Pacific Islands. They help students stay connected to their heritage and provide a platform for others to learn about the diversity of the Pacific Islands.

Community and Networking:

The Alliance provides an opportunity for students from different Pacific Islands to form friendships, build social networks, and support each other. It frequently collaborates with other student organizations to foster cross-cultural understanding and interaction.

Emotional and Psychological Support:

For students studying far from home, emotional and psychological support is particularly important. The Alliance provides a comfortable environment where members can share their challenges and experiences while receiving peer support to help them cope with academic pressures, cultural differences, and homesickness.

About

About us

We are a loving family, dedicated to providing a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment for students from the Pacific Islands. In this family, we not only share academic and cultural resources but also care for and encourage each other. Whether it’s challenges in academics, life, or emotional well-being, we always support one another.

We believe that everyone has a unique story and background, and it is precisely this diversity that makes our family even more vibrant. Through regular gatherings, cultural celebrations, study groups, and community service, we come together to celebrate each other's achievements, overcome difficulties, and strive to find a sense of belonging while living abroad

The President

Major: Business Administration

My name is Marleina Mu’a and I am majoring in Business Administration. I work as a Front Desk Assistant and Resident Advisor for Court 17, the Housing and Residence Life on campus. First Gen student and the president of PISA.
Intro for PISA: PISA stands for Pacific Islander Student Alliance, which was created 4 years ago, during Covid. What started between six friends during a difficult time for the world, has become an identity-based student organization, where the main goal is working towards perpetuating the uniqueness of Pacific Islander Culture while also encouraging the importance of community service.
